Our philosophy

We believe a kindergarten programme is the foundation programme for a child’s formal education. In order for children to learn they must feel loved, safe and secure in a learning environment. We as a Lutheran kindergarten, strongly believe in God’s love for every child who is sent to our kindergarten. The child will be loved and cared for by our educators as the Bible says, “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

Love is the cornerstone of our education philosophy and we believe our educators are the vessels of God to channel His love and to deliver quality education.

Global Kids preschool provides an environment where children can progressively develop a love of learning and are supported to develop skills for life – such as self-discipline, respect and care for others, conflict resolution, social skills, sharing and co-operation, and acceptance of cultural diversity.

We believe that children need ample opportunity for free play in order to develop creativity, imagination and social skills. The learning environments are structured to promote creative play, incorporating children’s ideas and interests. We value opportunities for children to learn through small group interaction to develop age-appropriate skills in literacy, numeracy, fine and gross motor skills, social/emotional skills and Christian Studies.

We believe that parents/caregivers play a vital role in their children’s learning and development. Effective communication with families enables us to partner with them to achieve the best possible outcomes for their children.

Our curriculum, Global Kids Early Childhood Education Programme (GKECEP), is based on the concept of developmentally appropriate practices and it is an integrated programme of Australian and Malaysian preschool standard-based curriculum. Global kids are unique, socially connected and possess a sense of responsibility. They face their world with confidence and are prepared to wholeheartedly participate in the world around them.

To uphold the quality of early childhood education in our kindergarten, Lutheran Education Malaysia (LEM) has partnered with Lutheran Education Australia (LEA). In order to strengthen our partnership, LEM and LEA have signed an MOU in 2017. We will provide timely professional enhancement training for our educators with training done by LEA representatives.
